Principal's Welcome
Welcome to Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy. As Principal I am delighted to have a team of dedicated and professional staff who support students throughout their education. All students at OSCA wear the uniform designed by student council and the 6th form are expected to wear black and white business dress. We believe all
students should leave the academy with at least the core subjects of English, Maths, Science and ICT to GCSE to ensure a solid basis for further study or apprenticeships. Our Specialisms are Arts and Literacy, we want to see students use creativity as a means to enjoy and be confident in their learning and we want to ensure that all have the skills to play an economic role in society. To gain the best results students need to attend and for this reason we expect parents to support us in our drive to continue to improve attendance by not taking their child out of school for holidays. We in turn reward excellent attendance as we know employers place great significance on this.
There are many opportunities for students to be involved in the Academy through extra curricular activities, student council, peer mentors, prefects, Junior Sports Leaders and Arts Ambassadors. With a vertical tutoring system starting in September we are laying the foundations for students to be role models who are able to mentor the younger members of the group.
