Attendance Blog
March 2012
Easter is upon us and we are so proud that our students are still reaching excellent levels of attendance. Ofsted reported that we were above the national average and congratulations goes to each and every one of our students who are achieving excellence in attendance and are helping to make our Academy great!!!!!!!
Our new InTouch communication system is up and running and is proving to be very effective, and we have had very positive feedback from parents/carers and staff. Can we remind parents/carers to ensure we have your correct mobile number and ask that you supply us with your email address so that we can keep you up to date with news from OSCA via email!
Students reaching Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum levels of attendance will receive their certificates when we return after the Easter break, well done to all of you!!
All students should be reaching at least 95% attendance to enable them to receive the best education available to them.
| 1 day off per Academy year | = 99.5% attendance |
| 10 days off per Academy year | = 94.7% attendance |
| 20 days off per Academy year | = 90% attendance |
| 90% attendance | = 4 whole weeks absence from the Academy |
90% attendance during years 7-11 means that your child has missed half a year from the Academy.
This is time that can never be given back!!!
Help your child to reach their potential by encouraging them to attend the Academy every day and on time!
February 2012
Another half term comes to a close and we are pleased to see that our students are still showing a commitment to their learning by achieving excellence in attendance. Many of our students are now achieving Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum status and all are working hard to reach the next level!
New to OSCA this half term is InTouch, our new communication system which notifies our Parents/Carers when their child is absent from the Academy. We are excited about using new technology to help raise standards in attendance, so in order for InTouch to be used safely and effectively, please ensure that the Academy are made aware of any changes to your telephone numbers.
We are all looking forward to another great half term, if students are to achieve their potential, good attendance and punctuality are critical. The link between attendance and achievement is well documented.
We want all our students to achieve the very best they can. Irregular attendance, can, however, have a significant impact on student achievement.
Remember –
GOOD ATTENDANCE = HIGH ACHIEVEMENT
HELP US TO MAKE
ATTENDANCE MATTER!!!
December 2011
Attendance is still flying high at OSCA and we are very proud of achieving almost 95% this term. That’s a fantastic achievement from our students and a massive 3% higher than last year! This is due to the dedication and commitment of the students to their learning. A big thank you must also go out again to our Parents/Carers who by working in partnership with OSCA, are helping their children to attend better and achieve better!
Remember - EVERY DAY MATTERS!!!!
Those students once again achieving Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum in this half term will be receiving their certificates at the start of next term and letters will be sent out to the Parents of those students to congratulate and recognise this achievement.
Thank you again for the continued support you so willingly give and may we take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!!!!!!
October 2011
Welcome to the first Attendance Blog!
It’s a very exciting time here at OSCA with the introduction of our new attendance reward scheme.
All students reaching levels of between 93%-100% will be rewarded with Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum status and will receive a certificate and will be entered into prize draws to win vouchers.
There were more than 600 students that achieved these levels of attendance in the last half term that’s more than ¾ of our students!
We are so proud of OSCA students for showing such a commitment to their learning.
Well Done to them all !!!!!!!!!!
Valuable ‘teaching and learning’ takes place EVERY DAY here at OSCA even on the days that we are closing for a holiday so don’t let your child miss out on important lessons. Ensure they attend regularly and on time, including our specialism days. These are fun and exciting days for the students, which are tailored for each year group and enable each student to gain experiences outside of the classroom setting
Keep encouraging your child to reach their potential by attending EVERY DAY
Thank you to all of our OSCA Parents/Carers, these levels of attendance could not have been achieved without your continued help and support.
