Drama
Drama engages students in their own learning and the world around them through a dynamic learning medium. The specialist teachers ensures that students enjoy the active process of responding, making and evaluating drama.
Students who study Drama have the opportunity to explore the following:
- A wide range of scripted work
- Improvisation and devising around themes and issues
- Practical exploration of drama forms, mediums and techniques for performance
- Technical and design theatrical aspects
At Key Stage 3, all students take one hour of drama each week.
At Key stage 4 students can opt to follow BTEC Performing Arts (Acting).
Dance
Dance is housed in the dance studio (CA2) within the Arts faculty. The Dance studio is a fantastic facility with a fully sprung floor, mirrors, lighting and barres.
Dance is studied by all students in Years 7 and 8, 9 as part of the Arts Faculty. Students in Key Stage 4 can opt into BTEC Performing Arts (Dance).
Students regularly perform at the annual Gym and Dance Festival, as well as in the local community and partner schools.
