Student Council

At OSCA we have many ways for students to get involved with life at our Academy. ‘Student Governance’ are pupils who are ‘Leads’ of certain roles within Academy, these range from leading House Councils to being the Peer Mentor Coordinator. Pupils are given the opportunity to be part of many committees/sub groups such as ‘Learning Consultants, Prefects, Ambassadors for Creativity and Environment Officers. Representatives are of all age groups, and in some instances students are elected into their roles and are expected to articulate the views of their peers. Meetings of all groups take place every week, during lunch time and at the end of the day.
Student Governance report to the Principal every half term, giving updates from each of their areas of responsibilities.

Student Governance has been recognised for their work by collecting awards for the work they have undertaken. This is something that we are extremely proud of the awards and strive to collect many more with the dedication of pupils here at OSCA.

“Pupils are given so many chances to get involved in the running of the Academy, since year 7 I have been involved and towards the end of the last academic year, I was voted in by my peers to be the Chair Person for Student Governance. I really have enjoyed having this role and I hope I can emulate what has been done in the past and do the Academy proud”.
